Tough pocket-size scale with hinged lid.
Model: OnBalance Tough Weigh 1000
Suitable for weighing gold and small items of silver, weighs down to 0.1g and up to 1000g (1000g is about 32oz)).
Do you find that scales don't seem to last long? This one has a heavy-duty folding lid, this is the one to choose if you keep crushing your scales in your pocket (or between heavy items of stock); this does not mean it's indestructible, you can still break it by dropping it or getting it wet - but being able to carry it around without crushing it is a good start.

You like the design of this but you need one that goes down to 0.01g instead of 0.1g, there is an identical design but 0.01g (capacity 100g), see tuff-weigh-01.
You like the idea of something really sturdy with a folding lid, but it would be better larger in size and higher in capacity (also 0.1g but capacity 2000g), see notebk.
It needs to be this specification (0.1g / 1000g) but smaller...and it doesn't have to be quite
so 'indestructable', see DT-1000
This scale is guaranteed for 3 years. The guarantee excludes:
- flat batteries. New batteries will be charged at £5.00 plus £6.50 for return postage (UK).
- if you lose the battery compartment cover (sorry, we don't have spares)The guarantee is invalid if there is:
- obvious damage, e.g. dents, holes, cracked casing, weighing platform loose.
- signs of 'foreign material'. That's anything that should not be there, e.g. residues of herbs, chemicals, spilt tea, corrosion from leaking batteries.CALIBRATION
Inaccurate readings can usually be fixed by calibrating the scale, this is something you can do yourself if you have a 1Kg Calibration weight
. THIS IS NOT A FAULT, all electronic measuring devices need calibrating every now and again, see calibrating weighing machines
. We can calibrate it for you, for free, if it is returned within three months of purchase; after that, there is a charge of £5.00 + £6.50 postage (UK).
