How to sell to us

By mail

By mail

To encourage items by post we have a policy of paying by return-of-post, but please do telephone first to make sure that it will be worthwhile.

Include a letter listing the items enclosed and explaining that they are for sale. We will send you a cheque, if you wish to accept our offer, simply bank the cheque. If we don't buy the item, there is no charge for returning it to you.

You may wish to telephone (or email) first, to check the value, so that there are no disappointments. If you have a binocular for sale, check out the condition. before telephoning. Telephone: 01923 220206. Or email (and a photograph is always useful).

When posting lightweight goods (e.g. up to 2Kg) our box number is the fastest and most secure address:
QUICKTEST, PO BOX 180, WATFORD, WD19 5JD.
Use this address for items sent by Royal Mail (e.g. if you go to a Post Office).

For heavier items and anything NOT sent by Royal Mail, please use the office address:
QUICKTEST, UNIT 68, PARK HOUSE, GREENHILL CRESCENT, WATFORD BUSINESS PARK, WATFORD, WD18 8PH
Please do not use Parcelforce to send items to the office, they usually lose them, you have been warned!

And PLEASE:
- pack the item securely
- if the value is more than nominal, make sure it's insured.

Visitors welcome and, of course, it is good - because we can see the item and make an offer immediately.

Please phone first because:

- it needs to be a time when Raffi or Mac is in (usually Raffi) is available
- if you want to be paid by cash, we need to know in advance
- you need an idea of how much we will pay, so that you don't have a wasted journey.

IN PERSON, IF WE VISIT YOUR STAND AT A FAIR


When we buy at a fair from a trader (ie we have visited your stand), we fill in a purchase slip with the amount and your stand number (or car registration number), you sign - that's all, simple! This is because the organiser has details of who you are. Though if you WANT to write out a receipt, that's fine too.

CALLERS TO THE OFFICE OR TO THE QUICKTEST STAND WILL REQUIRE IDENTIFICATION

If the amount is more than nominal, you will need to show identification. We require two documents. The first document must contain your photograph and / or signature and must be traceable, for instance:

Cheque guarantee card / credit card / debit card
Bank / Building Society / National Savings book
Store Account Card (embossed, not a loyalty card)
Passport (any nationality)
Work Photo Pass if the company is nationally-known (so well-known that everyone has heard of it, not just the workers in your local town)

The second document must be proof of address and must be no more than three months old, for instance:

Paid utility bill (not a mobile phone bill or store / charge card bill)
Full driving license (must be accompanied by the counterpart driving licence D740 which is issued with the card)
Credit card / bank / Building Society statement
Council Tax payment book
Council rent book

We have been advised by the police that it is not good enough for us to see and check the documentation but that we should take a photocopy or photograph (this is now standard procedure at all banks, accountancy firms and solicitors). Feel free to fold the document so that we can't see bank transactions etc, it is only proof of your address we need.

Finally, please note that the identification must belong to you, the person who is selling the goods, even if you are selling on someone else's behalf.

If you are a trader and we visit your stall, all we need is your stall number and the name the organiser knows you by (the organiser will have your contact details).

If you visit us at a fair, and if the amount is more than nominal, you will need identifictaion (see above).
