{{Applications / quality}

Generally, a linen tester (also known as a linen prover) is a folding magnifier, traditionally used for measuring the threads-per-inch on linen, which is why it has a scale marked around the base. Today, they are mostly used for viewing stamps, coins, prints and photos - anything flat. They come in all sizes from 15mm to 90mm, one even has a light.

Specifically, this one has the smallest lens, 12mm diameter, but the combination of a light plus being able to focus the lens makes this the nicest of the small linen testers, very sharp image.

{Alternatives}
Not quite what you were looking for? You want a magnifier that rests on the page for reading? We have a few of these, especially designed for the partially-sighted, see our rest-on-page magnifiers
or
you want a small stand magnifier, but not one that folds, and one that has a high quality lens? See our small stand magnifiers

Too small? Need a stand magnifier that is larger, with space to work under? See our large stand magnifiers (bench magnifiers).

Almost right, but you DO need something considerably more powerful (a large single lens is ALWAYS low-power), AND it must still give stereo vision. Try the type of head-worn magnifier surgeons use. click here. These are good for watch repairing or for work on micro-circuits.

Not good enough?! Need a microscope? click here.

!!larger magnifiers on stands. Or if you want a large workbench-type magnifier large enough to work with both hands under the lens, see our largest magnifiers on stands

{Wholesale}
I haven't offered a wholesale price on these because

a) we only have a few, the retail price is way below normal
b) if you order 10 or more, you pay less than the wholesale price
c) available only while stocks last

however

if you want an import-quantity, the pack size (minimum quantity) will be somewhere between 144 and 360, the minimum spend is $5000.00 (about £3,300.00) and delivery is 3 to 4 months. Quotes available, serious enquiries only please.
