The above companies do not share your card details with us, we do not get to see your card number when you order online (obviously, we get to see the number if you place the order on the telephone, but we don't store the number, it is not visible to us once the call is finished).

SENDIBLUE (the system that sends emails), we send them your email address. We do not send them anything else, not even your name. If you click UNSUBSCRIBE on one of these emails, the system automatically removes your email address without you having to send us an email and request this.

Information on our Contact Database

Information on our Contact Database

In nearly all cases the only information we hold about you is your name and address so that we can print addresses for envelopes for posting out information or send you an email, plus a code that tells us what to put in the envelope or which email to send you:

A Testers, magnifiers, balances, books, tools, cleaners, traders' accessories

T Telescopes, binoculars etc

Please let us know if you are on the wrong list.

We divide code 'A' into two categories:

B Business (shops, antiques centres, auctions, anyone who has filled in our questionnaire and said they are 'Business' rather than 'Public')

P Private (personal / public)

The purpose of 'B' and 'P' is so that we can send special mailshots of trade equipment (testers and accessories specifically for fairs, markets, shops and auctions) to businesses, and not bother 'private' customers who were merely interested in one-off birthday present for Aunt Agatha or a magnifier for hobby work.

So goes the theory. These categories are very approximate. We have no way of knowing that "Joe Blogg" is a full time professional dealer with an annual turnover of two million pounds, or that "Import Export International" is just a letterhead a schoolchild made up for fun. If you would like to check your category you are more than welcome to telephone, write or email, and you may tell us which category you prefer.

There is no charge for a copy of your entire 'database' record, you may check that we have the correct contact, address, telephone number and email address.
Information on our accounts system

Information on our accounts system

Independently of our contact database we have an accounts system. This contains invoices and credit notes and a record of payments and refunds. There is no information that hasn't already been sent to you. There is no charge for statements or copies of invoices / credit notes.

We do not store card details, we do not even see your card details...unless you place an order by telephone, because you read them out to us, but even then, we have no record of the number once the call has finished.

Information requests

Information requests

If you would like a copy of your contact details on our database, please ask, there is no charge and we would welcome the opportunity to check that we have your correct address, telephone number and email address.

If you would like copies of invoices / credit notes (and a statement) please ask, there is no charge. General accounts information is kept for 2 to 3 years, individual invoices are usually traceable for 4 to 5 years.

Notification of delivery

Notification of delivery

If we send a parcel by the courier UPS, they will send you automatic emails concerning the progress of your parcel. These are sent from UPS's computer and are used only for the purposes of tracking parcels. Email addresses and telephone numbers are not visible to anyone tracking parcels.
