Why?

Q.
This item is discontinued.  Why?

A. It’s part of a one-off "job lot", these will never be available again at this price...and/or they will never be available again at any price.

Technical

Magnification / lens size in mm: 8X23

Maximum working distance: n/a (it's closed in)

Origin / brand: we import these from China

Construction / presentation: plastic lens, plastic casing, supplied in a printed cardboard box.

Applications

Generally, these are high power (like loupes) but on stands so that you don't have to hold them. Since they stand (i.e. stand flat) they are intended for use on flat objects such as stamps and coins, prints, paintings and photographs, and fabrics.

Specifically, the bottom half of the stand is clear to let in light and...um...I can't think of anything else to say about this...it's OK, it works.
