Tough pocket-size scale with hinged lid, sturdy pocket-size.

Suitable for weighing gold and small items of silver, weighs down to 0.1g and up to 1000g (1000g is about 32oz)).

Do you find that scales don't seem to last long? This one has a heavy-duty folding lid, this is the one to choose if you keep crushing your scales in your pocket (or between heavy items of stock); this does not mean it's indestructible, you can still break it by dropping it or getting it wet - but being able to carry it around without crushing it is a good start.

Guarantee

10 years. This covers manufacturing faults only, it excludes normal wear and tear, bowls, trays, finishes, clasps, hinges, feet, AC adaptors and  batteries; it also excludes being overloaded / dropped (e.g. error messages EEE, 0-Ld, or OUEr). The guarantee is invalid if the scale shows signs of foreign material (e.g. residues of herbs, chemicals, corrosion, spilt tea).  After 1 year you must pay the postage both ways.

Inaccurate readings can be fixed by calibrating the scale, this is something that is very easy for you to do yourself with a 1Kg weight (not supplied).  Giving inaccurate readings does not mean it is broken - all electronic measuring devices need calibrating every now and again, see calibrating weighing machines.
