Can be used as a handheld magnifier, but it is also designed so that it can rest on the page (more comfortable for prolonged reading). Very bright LED light.

Very high quality lens designed for the partially sighted but, of course, this is also the best quality for hobby and craft work.

We bought a massive 'job lot' of Schweizer magnifiers. They came  from a large company who got them directly from Schweizer (i.e. these ARE genuine!) then decided not to deal in optics.

* Want a wider field of view? Try a lower magnification. Field of view and magnification are connected, that's the way handheld lenses work, there is no choice, it's a 'rule' of optics, the higher the magnification the narrower the field of view.
