If you struggle with 10X loupes (because you do have to get very close to the object with a 10X) but think 5X or 6X isn't powerful enough, this 8X is a good compromise.
I got these when I bought up the stock of Gowlland (a well-known English company) when they closed down. The quality is really quite respectable, not amazing but far from poor.
